AuroraBorealis
Back-to-back hater
The only risk here are his injuries. Relative to his actual numbers in his career, 1.8 x 2 has been earned.
Last summer he had surgery on one groin. He said it gave him no problems this season. Now he did the other one so maybe he'll be alright now.
Make no mistake though. The people who don't like him now have never liked him, regardless of performance. This precedes the injuries and unavailability in the playoffs. Now they're just hiding behind that. It's either they hate him for his college incident or they find his playstyle unsettling.
For me, the only better realistic option was Fleury. I think he would take Montreal over Pitt if Price is gone though, because there he'd get more games. I'm curious about Edmonton too, if Smith is done.
You could argue Holtby, but I could see CDS outplaying him next year.
And honestly all this is based on people fearing for Jarry's availability next playoffs. Are we gonna be unlucky with goalies in the playoffs for a 3rd year running?
Odds are Jarry will play and the backup won't be relevant in the end.
Isn't it just a 1st round exit either way?
