5 Ways Melo’s Trade Makes Waves Throughout The NBA

1.The West is now officially a three-horse race
2.The San Antonio Spurs will do just enough to get to the 4 or 5 seed in the West
3. The Celtics and the Raptors just moved up a seed in the East
4. The MVP race just got even more interesting
5. LeBron will stay in the East

How does anyone in the East move up a seed if the Knicks were one of the worst teams?

The Spurs are still the 2nd best team in the West, HOU and OKC will take time to figure themselves out and SAS sleepwalks to 60+ wins every year

Cavs/Wizards with the Celtics probably injecting themselves into the conversation. Though one of those teams really has a shot at contending for the championship.

Meanwhile out West you have the Warriors, Spurs, Rockets and Thunder all with legitimate claims at contending for a title. And then a nasty underbelly of the T-Wolves, Jazz, Clippers, Griz, Pelicans, Blazers and Nuggets are fighting for the remaining playoff spots.

Talk about a bloodbath.

NBA needs 1-16 seeding in the worst way.

The sad thing is this Warriors core is guaranteed to stay together until at least 2019 when Klay can be a free agent, but who knows maybe Myers will find a way to keep him.

$28 mil option will most likely be picked up.

He had 3 assists all series.

Benched towards the end of the series.

Missed open shot after open shot.

I'm absolutely stunned that a team with 3 ballhogs didn't work out.

OKC is screwed beyond belief.

George is probably out the door already to Los Angeles (or Philly maybe?), they're stuck with that boat anchor of a contract with Melo.

Might honestly want to look at trading Russ before he starts to fall off since they have almost no chance of contending with that salary structure.

They're trying to wait for Durant to come back. Don't want to go off the deep end like Cleveland did when LeBron left. But in the NBA, if you're treading water, you're better off being just dead.

PG is either staying in OKC or going to LA. Nowhere else.

Correct. I fully believe KD will be back within 2-3 years, especially when GS eventually loses Klay or Draymond.

Oh it's only going to get better from here.......

If Carmelo won't come off the bench now, I can't imagine how much of a malcontent he would have been if the Pistons drafted him in '03.

Darko flamed out in epic proportions. But at least he didn't hurt the team's chemistry.

Lmao OKC gonna miss the playoffs next year and Melo gonna have the same excuse "there is no system" even though he can't play in any system not called ISO ball.

Dude is done. He can hardly score anymore, can't defend, can't run, he's finished. As soon as his contract expires with OKC I honestly can't see him getting anything other than maybe mid level exception contracts
