I’m still pissed about that trade. Nobody questions why Jones seemingly abruptly didn’t want to re-sign. Chicago WAS NOT looked at as some “contender”.

jones told the blue jackets in late may of 2021 (right after the PLD saga season + foligno/savard trades + three weeks after torts was relieved of duties) that he didn't plan on extending.

which means that jones changed his mind because:

1. the organization had just gone through massive changes, drama, trades, etc. that triggered a full tear-down rebuild, and he figured his chances to win would be higher elsewhere, OR
2. he hated a player (elvis) who you also happen to hate

if you are seriously saying that #2 is more likely than #1, you are a first-ballot internet message board troll hall-of-famer.

the blackhawks weren't world-beaters at that time, but they had a (seemingly) brighter immediate future with some veteran stars (kane, toews, fleury) and young burgeoning stars (debrincat, strome, hagel, dach). they had way more momentum at the time than the jackets.

Well, Jarmo is probably about to make one of them his next whipping boy for underperforming a contract and making him look bad once he eliminates Elvis.

He'll burn it all to the ground if we let him.

He should have been fired years ago along with salesman JD.

The eagles might fire a coach after taking them to three straight playoffs including a super bowl appearance. That might be a bit radical but the job security that jarmo has had is absolutely unfathomable
