You would end up with a player who will give you exactly 10 games of "wow, why can't he do that more often he could be too 6 no problem!", 60 games of "oh he played tonight?", And 12 games of "wow we would have been better if he had been benched".

He also isn't one to just throw out made up rumors. He knows a lot of agents to go with his connections with the Oilers.

His also pretty smart with the information he throws out there. He isn't going to burn bridges and run and tell the world information that could end up hurting a team/player.

He's essentially fighting for a 12th-14th role. Essentially someone to give you a different look and or keep young kids out of the lineup that just aren't ready.
