If the Gavrakov deal stalls I can see Bos offering up two firsts plus Lhorei, Smith and Reilly fit Chycrun. There has to be a plan B if plan A doesn’t pan out

Love Jack. The greatest, most unbiased commentator of our generation.

There was a time he really was an excellent defensive defenseman. He hasn't performed at that level for a couple seasons.

He’s been asked to be a 1D.

No one in their right mind thinks he is that pr asks him to be that.

He’s a legit top4

Dumba might be a decent back up plan. Wild can max retain, and/or take back expiring salary. He can skate, is tough, and has a good shot. Has top pairing physical talent, but you do have to put up with the brainfarts. He is definitely a player who has ups and downs, rather than one who is boring and steady.

I don’t really know if he is on the market, though. It might be a last minute decision whether or not to trade him, depending on how MN is doing. As of now, they are probably treating him as their TDL acquisition, rather than trading him for a 2nd.

I rate him as a 4/5. It's not a big difference of opinions here.

His performance decline predates this season.
