After watching every calgary game this year I can assure you TJ isn't great defensively. Hes a great skater and decent puck mover, but isn't as good with the defensive side of the game.

Jets can’t afford McD cap hit now or his new contract cap hit and the Jets can’t afford the kill their farm system by trading multi 1st rd picks for likely nothing more then a rental. Jets already have maxed out their cap this year with bonuses being paid. They will be a cap team moving forward with all our young guns getting new contracts and Wheeler soon.

Too rich for our blood imo.

Chevy just stated few days ago there are certain prospects that simply aren’t on the table no matter what....he was likely referring to Jack R, Connor, Vesalainen and maybe even Niku. We need those ELC deals to our team rolling, not wasting them on rentals. He also stated he would consider trading any other prospects other then the protected ones and his 1st this year. Aka B/C/D level prospects plus a 1st.

Sounds safe to assume the Jets are not in the bidding for McD at this high costs. Jets don’t need to make any big splash moves.

Tampa can offer quantity and quality, problem is they most likely want Sergachev but they won't get a Sergachev type prospect for McDonagh. Entry level contracts for guys like Sergachev are too valuable to a team like TB. However I do think TB will have to include Foote in a deal for McDonagh. I think SY might do it.
