That’s a bit optimistic for my tastes. I think I’ll wash it down with some Robert Earl Keen to really depress me.

I think DW needs to go under the microscope a bit. I'm still convinced he thought Montreal would match the Kotkiniemi offer sheet. I'm curious how much was known about this year's AHL situation before it unfolded. All these coaches have flaws, and strong points. Great coaches end up with shit teams and vice-versa. This is a core of good players IMO, but they need to hear different things to get there. Rod has taught them all he could by now. No knock on Rod. He's just at the end of his CAR life.
Tro was never going to extend with us because our coaches f***ed around with how he was utilized here. 3rd and 4th line minutes in games where it mattered really pissed him offyep, worst mistake we made was thinking we were the smartest guy in the room as far as Tro goes. IIRC it wasn't even money, it was the term that we weren't willing to give him. We shelled out for KK to extend instead and he has not worked out at all in that regard. He's not a bad player but he's a #3 and that's all he'll ever top out as, at least here.
It's possible that Kuzy, working with our staff in the off-season, recommits himself physically and bounces back to be the #2 we need next season. But that's going to be too late. Pesce's gone, Skjei is about to get PAID by not us, and Nikishin is still another full season away, those are two MASSIVE holes that I don't know how we're going to fill shy of Columbus being drunk as f*** and filling one of them for us in a Provorov for KK trade. The only other option there is Jarvis or Necas, either of which we need to try.
We're going to have a couple of mid seasons before the next window opens. Playoffs, almost certainly (because this division sucks) but not contenders to the same extent we have been the last 4 years.
FLORIDA ALL OVER AGAIN, JUST A ROUND EARLIER.
Ownership is happy making money with our very forgiving fanbase. In some ways, it makes the coach even more valuable due to the loyalty effect. He's, in a way, a very effective marketing asset regardless of the results. Sorry, I am a bit of a cynic on this front. Are we happy with making the playoffs or do we really want to compete?
This offseason will tell us a lot.
Burns has been on the ice for many of the goals this series.TDA is being a pest. Good for him. But it’s clearly not working, and pests are usually more effective when your team is actually winning games. When they’re on the losing end, those antics just wind up looking foolish.
Or maybe X-Men ‘97 if you’re looking for an animated series?jesus. why not something a little happier, like Requiem for a Dream?
Playing for an offer sheet. I think he wants out.Necas has been way better than both of them all playoffs
We are asking burns to be the 1RD and 2Rd in this series. He isn’t top shutdown RHD anymore. So he is struggling, much like chatty and tda.Burns has been on the ice for many of the goals this series.
Yep. Pretty much. Just hit the better team earlier.
I think they’re just a better team. Their special teams are beating ours and we lack whatever it takes to overcome that. That’s why I’m not jumping on the doom and gloom train. This isn’t an underachievement. This is what happens in the playoffs. Two very good teams meet, one wins, one loses.
It sucks that we end up on the losing side of these games, but we know the main reason why it’s happening. The Rangers special teams are giving them the edge they need to win these close games.
Does it fall on the coach that our PP is 0-for? Maybe? But at the end of the day, he’s not the one on the ice. It’s up to the players to execute, and they simply haven’t.

Good hard hit taking out a key Avs player.
Burns hasn’t hit anyone with this force in the playoffs but don’t worry he will never rest & stay healthy for his consecutive game streak next year.
Special teams + goal tending + their stars > CanesI think they’re just a better team. Their special teams are beating ours and we lack whatever it takes to overcome that.
Nope burns doesn’t hit and he needs to.Are you drawing lines from points that don’t make sense?
that doesn’t even make sense how this is a Burns issue. Then you add in Benn is a forward and the correlation here is all jacked up.Special teams + goal tending + their stars > Canes
Nope burns doesn’t hit and he needs to.
Playoff hockey is a tough and often mean process. you need your big guys to punish. Burns floats.
Sorry you are too dense to make the connection. Big men hitting are not specific to a role.that doesn’t even make sense how this is a Burns issue. Then you add in Benn is a forward and the correlation here is all jacked up.
