They've run Demers out at forward before if I recall correctly, why not put him on the 3rd line and keep Burns at D?

Hi, Minnesota fan here, I'll behave.

Figured you'd want input on Burns as a forward. He wasn't as good as hoped. By then, he had a couple years at defense and was starting to play well there. Lemaire moved him up because our forwards sucked (as they always have), but Burns was too tentative to be the kind of power forward you'd want up front. Showed some flashes with some physical play and going to the net, but didn't really make plays up front, carry the puck up ice with authority, or have the impact he does on defense.

His play as a defenseman, although he had his moments where he could make mistakes in his end, he was better offensively from back there where he could rush the puck or take his point shots, which he didn't do up front for some reason.

Still love the guy though.
