It's a win against a team we should beat. Certainly not the Blues' best game, but a big 2 points. Tough second night tomorrow(especially when our fourth line only played like 7 minutes tonight), so it was critical to get these two points.

The panthers and hurricanes for that matter are pseudo-contenders.
Perhaps. Panthers have been really good. East is funny. Top 8 pretty much locked into playoffs already, but aside from lightning it’s hard to believe in any of them.

Panthers look like the Hitchcock-era Blues. They haven't won a single playoff series as a core group, and it's unrealistic to expect a team to just go all the way without ever having learned how to win in the playoffs. Carolina has won a few series, but their core group is still learning how to win. They have a good amount of talent, but their best players are a bit young to win it all this early. I know people said that about Chicago back in 2010, but they had Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, etc to support young Toews and Kane.

Something is way off with Pettersson, by the way. He played 20 completely invisible minutes(got a secondary assist on their goal without really doing a whole lot to contribute to it). He was dangerous every shift in years past. He has to be injured or something. Doesn't look remotely the same.

NYR are the best in the east in my opinion. everyone looks at CAR or FLA but NYR are sneaky good this year.

Colorado is the best reg season team in the west right now but it really does not mean much. great special teams and goaltending is what wins in the playoffs which is why colorado wont sniff the second round unless they play some shitty team from the pacific.

i still say if you cant win the central, the next best slot is to win the wildcard that leads to the pacific playoff bracket which will likely be the 1st WC. the path to the west finals by going through Vegas and CGY/SJ/LA/ANA is much easier than going through MIN/COL/NSH.

Good game guys. Never had seen Husso play before but wow is he amazing. You guys got a keeper in him. What's going on with Binnington? Based on stats, looks like he has been less than average this season. Is Husso stealing his job?
He started off well in October slowed slightly in early November, hit a rut, got covid. And since returning from covid he has played only six games Splitting them 3-3.
