Can be about any player/team.

Blues related
Ivan Barbashev will be our best center.
Colton Parayko will post over 50 points and finish top 5 in Norris voting.
Fabbri will break out with over 55 points and 20 goals.

Rest of the League
Charlie McAvoy will win the Calder.
Carolina and Arizona will end their playoff droughts.
Chicago will miss the playoffs.

I got three for each. Anyone else have any?

I'll just predict the outcome of the entire western conference because why not.

Central:
1. St. Louis
2. Nashville
3. Minnesota
4. Chicago
5. Dallas
--------------
6. Winnipeg
7. Colorado

Notes: MIN, CHI, and DAL will all be within ~5 points of each other and will all be ahead of ARI. WPG will be ~2 points behind DAL and will cry out because they're ahead of ARI but not in a playoff spot.

Pacific:
1. Edmonton (Presidents trophy)
2. Anaheim
3. Arizona
--------------
4. San Jose
5. Calgary
6. Vancouver
7. Los Angeles
8. Las Vegas

Notes: ARI will be significantly behind ANA. ARI will just barely beat out SJS and CGY for the last spot in the pacific.

Round 1:
STL v. CHI
NSH v. MIN

EDM v. DAL
ANA v. ARI

Round 2:
STL v. NSH

EDM v. ANA

WCF:
STL v. ANA

Schenn is functional as a top 6 center.
Fabbri has a disappointing season and slower to rebound from the surgery than expected.
Allen is a top 10 goalie regular season
Bennett is a solid contributor and starts more than 60 games,
Gunnarsson spends time as the 7th man and is traded before the all-star game.
Schmaltz is underwhelming.
Sobotka scores on a Lehtera pace and most people are happy with his contribution. Also does not play much center.
Out of all the forward prospects, Sanford takes the biggest step forward (not counting Barbashev).
Sundqvist is more dependable than Brodziak.
Pietro has a top 5 Norris year.

I agree with pretty much all of this actually.

I'll add some more, both Blues and general NHL-related:

- Edmonton goes to the Cup
- McDavid scores over 110 points
- Auston Matthews scores 90
- Tarasenko only hits 35 goals
- Paul Stastny plays his final game in the Note this season
- Mike Yeo becomes a widely-considered top 10 NHL coach and Blues go to 3rd round
- LA acquires either James Neal or Evander Kane midseason
- Vince Dunn has almost a Parayko-like rookie year for the Blues, and is in Calder conversation (but doesn't win)
- Chicago loses in the first round for the 3rd straight year
- Washington loses again in the first 2 rounds, fires Trotz
- Shattenkirk has underwhelming season in NY
- Matt Duchene is traded before Colorado's first regular season game
- Dallas wins Central Division
- Jaskin becomes even more of a bust and isn't brought back after the season

Parayko will elect to go to arbitration and then have an outstanding year
Fabbri will disappoint
Sobotka will disappoint
Schmaltz will disappoint
Sundquist will pleasantly surprise
Barbashev will excel
Walman will be on the Blues this season. (Yes, before Dunn).
Gunnarson will be traded on or before the TDL
Somebody will misspell Sanford
Berglund will be mentioned in over 100 trade proposals
Somebody will call Bouwmeester "slow"
Bennet will pleasantly surprise
Blues reach the WCF and Berglund will be the leading playoff scorer

Ivan Barbashev disappoints

Robby Fabbri becomes the top center on the team

Vince Dunn becomes a regular

Oskar Sundqvist becomes a regular

1. Dunn makes the team out of training camp. Walman joins the team in the second half of the season.

2. Kyrou gets nine games with the Blues at the start of the season, is then returned to the juniors.

3. The Fabbri and Schenn experiments at center fail, and they return to the wings.

4. Barbashev will grab the second line center job and hold it (and will improve in the face off circle).

5. Parayko gets even better, and is recognized around the league as a star.

6. The Blues win the central division.

If we are going bold...

1) Petro goes for 20g 45a and wins the Norris

2) Tarasenko has 45g, 40a to be just over PPG

3) Barbashev is Tarasenko's primary center and tops 50 points

4) Stastny puts up 55 points and plays 75 games

Duchene, Stastny, Barbashev are your 1-3 centers by end of the year
Dunn and Walman are NHL regulars before end of the year
Bouwmeester is added to trade for Duchene for cap reasons
Tarasenko breaks PPG and gets MVP votes
Parayko and Pietrangelo have Wainwright/Carpenter 2009 esque seasons and cancel each other out for the Norris
Allen goes nuts and wins Vezina
Blues lose to the Edmonton McDraisitl's in Conference Finals
Penguins win 3rd Stanley Cup with Gunnarsson on defense (acquired around Olympic break)

End of Year Roster:
Schwartz Duchene Tarasenko
Fabbri Stastny Schenn
Steen Barbashev Berglund
Sobotka Brodziak Paajarvi

Edmundson Pietrangelo
Dunn Parayko
Walman Bortuzzo (Schmaltz moved in trade for Duchene)
Lindbohm

Behind Blue Eyes
Fabbri gets hurt again, misses 15+ games.
Schenn scores under 50 points, fails at center, becomes whipping boy
Sobotka becomes Tarasenko's most regular center
Barbashev is meh on the 3rd line, leaves people wanting more
Tarasenko is PPG
Schwartz is under 60 points
Dunn plays over 55 games
Parayko is under 40 points
Steen is above 55 points
Pietrangelo breaks 55 points, still doesn't get any 1st place Norris votes
Blues finish close to wildcard position

Around the League:
Edmonton is the best team in the West
McDavid hits 120 points (which people downplay because 15 come against Vegas)
Penguins are the best team in the East, wins president's trophy
Columbus wins a playoff round
Montreal trades for John Tavares, knocks out Pittsburgh in the playoffs

I don't see Barbashev centering Tarasenko for a while. I think in an emergency situation it was fine during a playoff series. But over the regular season the rookie is far too deferential to the Rocket Richard candidate. I think it will be Stastny again, most likely, possibly Fabbri.

Schwartz-Fabbri-Tarasenko (ooh, that would be a line worth getting popcorn for)

Barbashev needs more limited minutes, and needs a 3rd line role for starters. If Hitch was still coach, I could see Tarasenko getting more limited minutes and strictly offensive zone starts, and Barbashev getting the appropriate amount of ice time. But I'm not sure Yeo would handle it that way.

Our couple top6 players and top2 defender will be injured and we're force to use youngsters. We play well, but eventually fall down heavily out of playoffs and we are going to draft top3 spot. Brady Tkachuk.

Does anyone remember the turning point for Ranksu last year? Was there a specific moment that did it for him, or was it over a period of time?

Wow are people high on Barbashev. Hope you all are right but man I don't see it, at least not this year.

I thought Barbashev looked good last year until the Minnesota series. He was in over his head in the playoffs, especially in the faceoff circle.

But he showed enough to make me a believer. I hope I don't have cause for regret by the end of the coming season.

This could happen. If it does, the Blues will be very good.
