Grasping at straws here, but....

Question.....if a trade is so obviously one-sided that it seriously damages one team, can the NHL modify it? Colorado already got a haul for Duchene without that 1st round pick. If (for some reason) that protection is pre-lottery, or they automatically end up with a top 3 2019 pick instead...can the NHL say, "no Colorado, you got enough already...you will get the 32nd pick as compensation instead"?

Iirc, they were initially going to take away a NJ first rounder due to cap circumvention, but ended up giving them the last pick in the 1st round instead, because they didn't want to damage to team too much....can we argue the same thing here? Nashville and Colorado are making out like bandits already....why should Colorado also get a top 3 pick (if it comes to that)?
