McDonough's crime was going to the coaches instead of HR.
You don't take that shit down the chain, you take it up the chain.

But what's the actual CRIME here?
Sexual Harassment?

Beach voluntarily participated in it, according to witnesses.
How are we supposed to ignore that?

Unless the woman is lying, Beach actively participated in it.

Why would she lie? Payoff from the ownership?
Why would Beach lie? Reputation, for one. It would hurt his massive lawsuit settlement, for two.
Please don’t blame the victim.
With where he was (career wise) at the time he may have thought not appeasing this guy he perceived as having power could affect his career. This is no different than a woman that’s “”” willingly””” being raped by a boss because she fears reprisal and has a family to feed.
None, NONE of this is Beach’s fault.

The actual crime? Is criminal facilitation. Others within the organization (underlings) had the same issue. We know they knew this and kept him as an employee giving him direct access to potential victims. If the Hawks do the right thing he’s long gone before the Beach assault happens. Yet they kept him working in the job.

Soooo...about the original intent of the thread...

Can we get back on track and let this find itself on the second page? Toews isn't being traded, and probably not coming back. No other news at this point.

it's not BLAMING the victim.
It's defining what he's a victim of.
That's a pretty f***ing important distinction.

If he's lying about consenting - that's a f***ing red flag.

But, oh, better believe every word of the story who is suing for millions - only after the real hero - the high school hockey kid - reported it.

It's another example of how hockey fans (and many others) don't consider facts or have any skepticism, whatsoever, if the allegations are offensive enough.

One way or the other, Beach was guilty of disturbing sexual harassment.
Aldrich is guilty. No doubts.
McDonough botched it. No doubts.
Beach should get his payday for that.
Even if he voluntarily participated in it, the Hawks coach was a predator who abused his position and the Hawks management swept it under the rug instead of dealing with it.

But was it sexual assault? Every just assumes it was, despite witnesses who tell you he voluntarily participated in it.
Just throwing facts out the window isn't how I operate.

I respect that Toews is so open about his struggles with long Covid.

It's a very real thing and I don't think we're taking it seriously enough.

Enough on the Kyle Beach stuff, Toews was 21 years old and he didn't do the thing that was repulsive.

The woman is the one who WENT BACK to Aldrich's apartment with Beach.
She and Aldrich say they had sex with the woman.
Beach said they got up to the apartment and turned around before they went in.
Other reports suggest this woman was familiar with a lot of the guys around the Hawks at the time.

Someone is lying.
It's a major red flag in the story that's really been glossed over.

Toews, the most overrated player of the past 20 years, is going out with a whimper.

His resume looks awfully weak compared to many of his peers at this time.
3 Stanley Cups as the first line center.

If that's "weak" I'd be awfully curious to see what "strong" looks like.

Are there other current NHL players that are currently experiencing Long Covid?

Off the top of my head, Brandon Sutter has a pretty bad case of it.

Bear I think also said he really struggled with it for awhile.

Some NFLers and college football players have also spoken about how tough coming back from it was.
