If Abbott can be traded get what can be got. However considering he was traded for future considerations nothing has been lost. I'd have to guess San Diego gets nothing if Abbott doesn't report. If Abbott changes his mind and attitude that could possibly be a positive but he'd have to prove it to Kowalsky and his new teammates and he'd have some 'splaining to do. If Abbott accepts a trade to another team and Binghamton can get a decent return go for it, but Abbott shouldn't have the ability to pick where he goes. He was unsigned until 9/24. Maybe he was holding out for an NHL contract or maybe no one wanted to sign a high maintenance player with baggage.

Jason Akeson comes to mind. He just signed in Sweden after being released from his PTO with Syracuse.

In to the Bears Den tonite for Binghamton AHL~~~!!!!!!!
It is a real shame that Binghamton AHL and the Bears are only playing 2 times this season...... No idea how the Mitchel regime messed that up..... Some years these 2 teams used to play 12 times a season..... I always enjoyed when Binghamton played the Bears, loved when they played in the old Hershey Park Arena..... That building had a great atmosphere, you could feel the hockey history in that building... My Dad used to take me on the bus to see a game once a year in the late 30's, first hockey I ever watched... Was amazed by the size of the building and the ice inside it...... That was before the war.... Will stop before I type a novel today.....

Side note that was the building that Wilt Chamberlin scored his 100 points in an NBA game......
