This ^. He had a rough series against Boston, agreed there, but it's not like he was invisible. He has his chances and was still pretty dangerous at times, just couldn't score. He shot at a ridiculous 3.7 shooting %. I feel like that happens when you have Bergeron, Marchand, and Chara mugging you literally every shift.

Lol I mean I love Gaudreau and all, but Matthews is a complete 2-way center that has everything, including fantastic 5on5 production. Matthews is absolutely better than Gaudreau. It's not AINEC in Matthews favour yet, but Matthews is absolutely better.

How about this then: Matthews 50 es points/62 games, Kessel 37 es points/62 games. Matthews PP Toi/game: 2:09, Kessel PP Toi: 3:46. The rest of Matthew's PP unit: Nylander, Komarov, Marleau, Gardiner; the rest of Kessel's PP unit: Crosby, Malkin, Hornqvist, Letang.

Yes one is doing significantly more with more opportunities, kinda like how Crosby wins many cups and McDavid doesnt make the POs.

Trochek: 31g/75pts,-9 in 82 games (48ES pts)
Matthews:32g/63pts,+25 in 62 games (50 ES pts)


Matthews had more goals and ES pts in 20 less games. He is also significantly better in his own end.
you need to look up the definition of "outproduce" because a guy playing significantly more games, getting more ice time, and doing less with it isnt outproducing. stop trying to push your agenda. you are wrong. trying to suggest trochek and kessel here easily over matthews is comical.
