Pace has saved cash for this offseason (it seems) so I am not really critical of past free agent season because it would have been a waste of money.

So your saying Pace sabotaged his own team and that his poor FA performance is some grand design?

Wow that is really reaching

Grand design? No it is common sense planning. If you know your team is going to be bad there is no point is spending big on free agents. You are far better of saving your cash and signing lottery tickets to short deals until your team is ready to compete. Pace took the past 3 seasons to gut and remove the trash from JA and PE. This is common sense BWC and tanking for the future is not some new concept.

Pace didn't hire Fox, correct? Wasn't Fox hired via Ernie Accorsi (sp?) prior to Pace being hired?

A GM should be allowed to hire their own head coach, in my opinion.

Fox was hired after Pace but Accorsi got paid a ton of money to be part of the coaching decision.

They say on the score all the time that they are 100% sure that Fox was an Accorsi hire, not a Pace hire.
Everyone in the media says it. You can also connect the dots from the articles last year. Pace liked Bowles, Quinn, and Gase. The McCaskeys liked Quinn and Gase until Fox suddenly became available.

Just connect the dots from these 2 articles last year.

If Trubisky decided to stay his senior year, he'd probably be the first pick in the 2018 draft. All the potential QB prospects have a lot of questions marks. Rosen is the best bet ... but Trubisky is physically more gifted. The question is between Trubisky, Garoppolo (that is if Belichick even would trade him to the Bears - Belichick is friends with the Shanahans), Watson, Mahommes, and Kizer. We shall see what who made the best choice.

However, the 2018 QB draft doesn't look as promising as it did before.
Here’s what NFL talent evaluators love/loathe about QB prospects Rosen, Darnold, Allen and Mayfield

Kenny Britt has been cut by Browns

Bears should get on phone with his agent and bring him in

Give him contract for rest of this season + next year
Britt is a joke not only on the field, but also off the field. The Bears are desperate but not like that.

Does today smell like a Bears upset to anyone else? The Bengals are on a day short of rest and had that allegedly brutal game with the Steelers Monday. I didn't see the game, just read about how brutal it was.

Add that the Bengals losing on Monday basically ended their playoff hopes. So they're going to be a beat up and deflated team most likely. Ripe the Bears to take advantage of.

Oh and the Bears are 2-0 against the AFC Central. If they win today, they probably will sweep that division 4-0, since the remaining game left is a home game against the winless Cleveland Browns.

Yup Bears win today. Also, if you care to track draft position or need a cure for insomnia, Colts/Bills are playing in a snow globe. Should be a hoot.
