Pure speculation on my part, but we now have 3 2nd round picks that can help us move into the 1st round. We can try and use one of those to either move up our 1st or to package 2 of them to move up in the draft.

Horrific trade at this point. Even if Baertschi ends up being a bust, trading him to the Canucks? Seriously, asinine move at best.

So clearly, they don't believe he'd take a spot next season but still, such a dumb trade.

Why did they sell low?? That's my biggest question. Yes, Baertschi was struggling to stay on the big club, and at times was in Hartley's doghouse, but why sell low? Especially to a division rival??

Just... makes no sense unless Baertschi asked for a trade.
