How would we ranked the Leafs assets for potential trades?

I’ll add mine in a bit, after some thought.

I saw someone mention Robertson is more valuable than Timmins (which I disagree with) but it got me wondering what the top 10 might look like.

Matthews Marner Tavares Rielly shouldn’t be listed IMO.

NMC diminishes their value significantly

I hope McCabe proves me wrong. He has a lot to show when it comes to the assets given up for him. For now it's a massive overpayment by Dubas.

Amirov’s health issues really impact us here, unfortunately.

With so few 1st rnd picks, it hits our assets disproportionately for Amirov to not be able to contribute

Agreed.

I would like to rank Robertson and Timmins higher. The problem is their injuries and lack of NHL games make you question their value.

Don't try to put any of them in a trade proposal. Heed my warning.

It isnt bad but Knies might be really low. He is a protected asset to anyone who would acquire him and he has some significant upside. I put him as #1 or 2. He might surpass Willy due to the 1 year term left. Any extension would likely come at a premium and reduce the haul

If Knies plays that well in his Leaf career then sign me up. I hope you're right.

It isnt about who is better. It is a trade on contract value. Knies is cost controled for years. Willy for only 1
Correct that’s why Matthews and Marner have very little value. IF they would waive it would be a tiny amount of markets that they would agree to go and could afford them.

So some of the least valuable assets in the NHL are Matthews, Marner, McDavid, Kucherov, Pastrnak, MacKinnon, Crosby, Malkin, etc...

Does a NMC really lower their value that much?

I have Brodie as a neutral/zero value. Team might take him off our hands without a sweetner.

Knies WAY more valuable.

Why wouldn’t it?

Because he's the guy, he's the franchise player, If he were available We'd get a boatload regardless.

You might say "but the NMC restricts the market."

Not really not unless you believe he'd sign with a bottom feeder like SJ or a team like Arizona playing in front of 3500 people max

They would get a boatload for any of the NMCs but obviously you just can’t up and trade them.
Yes, if they would go they would have value but it’s there decision for the team to resize their value not the Teams. IMO they can’t have the most value if you can’t cash in on that value

No, no, no.

Those other players aren’t maple leafs. On hfboards that’s really the deciding factor on value

The topic is 'for potential trades'.

How much time would a GM waste trying to come up with an offer for a player they know they cannot get? Probably none at all.

Kneis, Nylander, Samsonov, Woll, Liljgren, Timmins, Robertson, more or less in that order, and then picks.

I see that even the people who included Matty and Mitch didn't include JT.

Top 10 in that order.

Could potentially swap Lily out for McCabe depending on how each fair by mid season.

Imo I don't think Sammy is going to have a ton of trade value. Maybe a late 1st for a team that truly believes in him
