Will the number one selection be made?

I'm working from 6 in the morning til 6 at night and the draft starts at 6.

I'll be home around 6:10, 6:15.

Will I be home in time? I sure as hell hope so because the draft is one of my favorite things ever.

From what I remember, the 1st selection doesn't take place until about 20 minutes after it starts but I could be wrong.

First, I think you'll be alright, there's always a little presentation who's there, what you'll think will happen then they usually go for a break and comeback with Bettman saying lots of ''interesting'' things and then the team is called. 6.10, 6.15 seems good for me.
