It'd be nice if a player did that, but they'd be under no contractural obligation do to so.

Yeah, or he could end up back in Ottawa with the fans despising him.

His cap hit is $7m next year. That's not an easy one for any of the top teams to take on.

i think ottawa might... bc i think his real dollars are only 4m or 4.5 m right? i'm not sure how retention works with actual dollars paid out, but if they retain half i'd be down for spezza, steal at 3.5 hit.

i doubt bickell gets it done though :/

They're an internal budget team, so I can't imagine they'd be high on it.
