I don't know about the Flames making the playoffs, but I could see the Ducks having a tough year.

Yeah, currently no Lindholm or Rackell and Gibson seems to have injury issues so any stretch with Bernier will kill their season

Know what, I like Calgary's chances this year.

Solid goaltending, the structure has been there, three solid lines, 2 solid pairings.

There's a chance.

That's my thoughts as well. We are just lacking depth on 2 forward spots but let's see how it plays out.

Perry and Getzlaf are also perhaps, exiting their primes.

"semi-scientific guess"

I don't disagree with a whole lot of it - I'm glad to see someone sees the current blues and ducks as the overrated teams they are - but it comes off as pretentious.

Our goaltending is definitely better, but is it "22 points in the standings" better?

I personally think both Bennett and Hamilton are primed for big seasons, that mixed with Johnny/Mony and good goaltending, I think it's feasible for sure.

I think the goaltending is probably about 10-14 points better for us. Player development and a structure might take care of the rest.

It was "20 points in standings" worse last year than 2014-15 and it is improved beyond what we had then IMO. So a 22 point improvement would not shock me.

I think other teams are being underrated more than we are being overrated to be honest.

I just noticed something and it made me have a sensible chuckle. Everyones favorite Pittsburgh Penguin got sent through waivers on the 3rd and cleared, Tim Erixon. It would have been good for the laughs if the Flames claimed him.

Sounds like an interesting player, haven't heard of him though. Do you mean Tom Erixon?

Stole this from the "around the NHL" board.

Apparently the Oilers are going to make the playoffs with 85 points.

In other news, Edmonton has returned Reinhart to the AHL.

Bad trade that keeps looking worse.
