Pretty sure they're missing Seguin, but god, we complain about OUR defense? Compared to Dallas's defense? Woof.

Red Wings fans on this board tend to be overly dramatic about how bad the team's defense really is. It's not great by any means, and certainly could be a lot better, but it's undeniably in the top half of the league. Detroit hasn't lost back-to-back games in regulation all season.

i think top half is arguable but they aren't bottom 10.

Among others, we haven't lost in regulation vs. WPG (4 GA), vs. DAL (6 GA) and vs. ANA (3 GA). Is that saying anything about how good our defense is
or is it rather speaking in favour of our offense that compensates for our doubtful defense?

Ninth in the league in GA after 59 games with good but not spectacular goaltending. Seems safe to say that team defense isn't a huge problem. The system and some good two way play from most of the forwards covers for a very average group of Dmen.

i agree with that. good coach, system, responsible two way Fs that but into the system and work hard.

i assume you mean with their current core, toews was concussed in 2012 but still played. seabrook has missed few games. that's it.

Looks like the Hawks window is going to be closed for the next couple of seasons if Kane isn't healthy before the playoffs start. Those two ten million dollar cap hits are coming.

Bowman is pretty creative. Watch them trade for Kessel using their plethora of prospects just for the playoffs and then flip Kessel to Florida for Trochek+ at the draft. ....
