Ottawa loses again tonight. Their poor season though shouldn’t be a surprise based on recent history. It’s been make playoffs, miss playoffs for the past few seasons now. They’re in the miss playoffs phase of their consistent pattern.

Feel for Duchene. Leaves one terrible team only to join another lol.

Ottawa collapse is so much fun to observe. The fans got so indignant during the offseason when anyone doubted the team. Also nice to see Duchene pout his way from one mess to another.

Rick Nash corrals a nice pass behind the defense and tries to lift in a backhand, but Keith Kinkaid extends his glove to make a superb save.

Ottawa is probably a bigger tire fire then Montreal right now, wow.

That situation with Karlsson must really suck, reading their board now a lot of people are resigned to the fact hes leaving via FA, or will be traded.

Remember when apparently Boucher was a better coach then Babcock? Lol

no one said that, and Boucher s a good coach. If Babcock had decided to stay in Detroit, he would have been our head coach. Ottawa's problem is that Karlsson obviously is still suffering some issues with his ankle and the team can't score.

well when he came out and said he's not taking a hometown discount (probably becuse he already had one and Melnyk is cheap) i'd be resigned too if i were an Ottawa fan. even if Melnyk sells are you going to get someone committed to having the team in Ottawa (esp w/o a downtown arena?)

The Duke's Archives
"The System" -- aka getting filled in possession-wise and relying on Craig Anderson and Erik Karlsson to bail them out -- has failed them.

IIRC, a similar series of events occurred when he was the coach of the Lightning. In his rookie season, he took a mediocre roster to within a game of the cup finals, only to be followed by a miserable 120 game stretch before his inevitable firing.

Small sample size, but I am willing to rule out a coincidence.

Boucher is a good coach but thats 2 teams in a row that has went into a spiral after a solid 1st season. There were a couple postere who said Boucher might have taken us further in the playoffs then Babcock which is just wrong IMO

Ottawa has 10 players with M-NTCs. They have asked them all to list their acceptable trade destination list teams. In-coming tire fire sale. They will choke on the Bobby Ryan/Dion Phaneuf contracts. Eecch
