I'd take Jagr for something cheap. He can't skate and he takes 20 second shifts, but he would bring some cheap 5v5 production and leadership in a top 9 role.

• The AHL Board of Governors has made a commitment to an expansion applicant, which will see the AHL expand to 31 teams for the 2018-19 season.

• This commitment assures that all 31 NHL clubs will have a full primary affiliation in the AHL for 2018-19 and beyond.

• The process of concluding related agreements is not yet complete; once those agreements are in place the NHL and AHL clubs involved will jointly announce them.

Vegas won't have enough players next season to have their own AHL team.

They have their own exclusive team in the Chicago Wolves. Getting AHLers isn't really a problem. It's the Blues right now that don't have an affiliate.
