Looking at the cap information online, Anaheim has 5 times the amount of cap space than the Sharks. Any goalie will fit into their cap. Not true with the Sharks. Any experienced, and decent backup will not fit into Sharks' cap space.

And Niemi, whoever suggested it, no way. Only thing worse for the Sharks is Stalock.

They have 13m available but Lindholm and Rakell have yet to be signed...but they should still have ~4m to play with after that, but I think they have an internal budget as well.

The Ducks have an internal budget, and still have to sign Lindholm + Rakell. Cap space isn't the issue here, Anaheim will be looking for an inexpensive option.

And we also need to figure out that third line as well. This is gonna start getting tricky here soon as we sure as hell shouldn't be rolling with what we got as of right now.

Ok, here is something I thought about today.....

I'd like Bishop on the Canes obviously, but I dont see that happening. Obviously if Dallas is in fact going after Bishop they need to clear a goalie. How about this:

To Canes:
Niemi

To Dallas:
Bishop

To Tampa:
Lack

Fill in the necessary additions where needed and let me know.

Tampa is mad after RHD prospects with offense, have you got any spares? They don't understand how expansion works for some reason so they don't want Nichushkin or Ritchie, but if we could convert one of them into a right shot puck mover we might be in business.

If pavelec is a ufa next year I could see bishop dealt there but he needs an extension . So bishop for pavelec and a bunch of prospects , picks
I can't see Bishop wanting to live in Winnipeg, plus they might have a hard time affording him in the future.

They have a plan for that already in-house. Hellebuyck is a total stud and Comrie looks good.

16/17 - Pavelec + Hutchinson
17/18 - Hellebuyck + Hutchinson
18/19 - Hellebuyck + (tandem/backup/Hutch/Comrie)
19/20 - Hellebuyck + Comrie

If they want better goaltending right now and not next year, they can put Pavelec on waivers and to the AHL and call up Hellebuyck. Or just trade Pavelec somewhere and call up Hellebuyck.

Is Hellebuyck that much of a sure bet?

Ryan Murphy is all we have available in that department.

San Jose or Anaheim should be in on Enroth, that's if he comes on the cheap...

Poulin or Scrivens could be a 2nd option for Anaheim or San Jose.

Ramo, Ortio and Lindback should just go to the NLA, SHL or Finland.
Justin Peters signed with Arizona, most likely as the starter in the AHL.

He's better than Pavelec, better than Hutchinson and better than some of the backups around the league. Their best lineup has him as one of their two goalies.

Where he's at right now is just like Martin Jones a year ago when the Sharks acquired him and made him their starter, and I would say Hellebuyck's first full season will be just as successful as Jones' 15/16 season.

He's big, he's athletic and he displays composure under pressure. No reason to trade for a goalie when you have this guy in the wings.

People should be talking about him in the same conversation as Gibson, Vasilevskiy, Mrazek and Murray. He's less proven but that will change.

Ok...please adjust this as needed:

To Canes: Niemi and Nichushkin

To Tampa: Lack, Murphy, Pick x (from CAR or DAL)

To Dallas: Bishop

Would dallas give up Niemi/Nichushkin for Bishop?

Tampa obviously doesnt have the cap room for both....

Canes need quality F and a better option in net (though Niemi is a bit pricey considering what he brings).

Heck yeah we would.

Are you really down on Lack? I'd be very interested in a deal around Lack and Niemi.

I was under the impression that Dallas had their eyes on Bishop...which is why I was incorporating all three teams. I just have no clue how to value goaltending these days in the trade market.

The Ducks need a backup still. We're in a financial bind so I could see Murray giving up a fairly significant piece if Toronto retains half his salary for this last year. Especially since the bonus has already been paid.

Could something be worked around sorensen or Montour? Bernier @50 for either of them?

We aren't moving Honka, and just like last year with Talbot we aren't going to be budging from that stance. Neither side needs to do anything, so they'll use him to get them another long playoff run and we'll make a serious run at him in free agency.

If Toronto decides to go with Sparks all the spots could be taken at the NHL level.

Latest additions in bold

Not many spots available, even at the AHL level

ANA : Gibson/Bernier | Tokarski/Hackett/Boyle
ARZ : Smith/Domingue | Peters/Langhamer/Hill
BOS : Rask/Khudobin | Subban/McIntyre/Vladar
BUF : Lehner/Nilsson | Ullmark/Kasdorf (RFA)
CAL : Elliot/Johnson | Gillies/Rittich/McDonald
CAR : Ward/Lack | Nedeljkovic/Altshuller
Carolina might be looking for an experienced/proven option at the AHL level. They could possibly bring back John Muse.

CHI : Crawford/Darling | Johansson/Carruth/Hildebrand (AHL deal)
COL : Varlamov/Pickard | Martin/Smith
CBS : Bobrovsky/McElhinney | Korpisalo/Forsberg/Dansk
McElhinney's job could be in jeopardy...

DAL : Lehtonen/Niemi | Lagacé/Desrosiers/Kiviaho/Bow (AHL deal)
DET : Mrazek/Howard | Coreau/Pasquale/Paterson
EDM : Talbot/Gustafsson | Brossoit/Ellis/Laurikainen
FLA : Luongo/Reimer | Berra/McKenna/Brittain/Stevens/Montembeault
Reimer's signing and Berra's acquisition created an organizational logjam. Montembeault can still be assigned to juniors but he'll count under the 50 contract-limit.

LAK : Quick/Zatkoff | Budaj/Campbell (RFA)
MIN : Dubnyk/Kuemper | Stalock/Michalek/Vay
MTL : Price/Montoya | Condon/Lindgren/Fucale
Logjam at the AHL level. Montreal might look to move Condon.

NAS : Rinne/Mazanec | Saros/Gunnarsson
NJD : Schneider/Kinkaid | Wedgewood/Appleby/Blackwood
New Jersey might fear loosing either Kinkaid or Wedgewood on waivers.

NYI : Halak/Greiss |Bérubé/Gibson (RFA)/Williams/McAdam
Too many goaltenders?

NYR : Lundqvist/Rantaa | Hellberg/Skapski/Halverson
OTT : Anderson/Hammond | O'Connor/Drieger
PHI : Mason/Neuvirth | Stolarz/Lyon/Ouellette (AHL deal)
PIT : Murray/Fleury | Jarry/Maguire/DeSmith (AHL deal)
SJS : Jones/Dell | Grosenick/Armalis
Aaron Dell is the projected backup. If the Shark sign another goaltender it will create a logjam at the AHL level.

STL : Allen/Hutton | Binnington (RFA)/Copley (RFA)/Husso
Three decent prospects in the AHL but only one crease...

TBL : Bishop/Vasilevski | Gudlevskis|Wilcox
TOR : Andersen/Sparks (RFA) | Bibeau/Kaskisuo
Could be looking for an upgrade over Sparks

VAN : Miller/Markstrom | Demko/Bachman/Garteig
WSH : Holtby/Grubauer | Cannata/Vanecek/Milner (AHL contract)
WIN : Pavelec/Hutchinson| Helleybuck/Comrie/Philips
Will Winnipeg find a taker for Pavelec?

This is actually a handy guide - thanks for making it!

But I wouldn't worry too much about AHL logjams - that's what the ECHL is for (I swear, every time I go to an ECHL game the only player on the roster I recognize is the goalie).

NEEDS

TOR - backup on 1 year deal
NAS - backup on 1 year deal (or call up Mazanec)
SJS - backup (or use Dell instead of waiving him)

EDIT - Lamiorello flat out said today that TOR will be adding a backup (therefore Sparks is not the backup).
