That whole game was weird. There were times where we looked good immediately followed by spells off extreme lackadaisical play. Very frustrating.
The Blues need to be disciplined and play with determination ALL game long. They've given up so many goals just before the end of a period or just after they've scored a goal, themselves. You could see it. They were mentally still celebrating their goal and enjoying being relieved that they were back by only one goal. That mental state made it so they weren't concentrating fully on what was going on, and before they could focus, Couture was putting the puck in their net.
They do that A LOT. That is very unprofessional. These guys are being paid millions of Dollars. The good NHL teams don't play that way. They come at you even harder right after scoring on you. They don't let up. That's killer instict. The Blues are the opposite. That's one of the reasons I want them to get a new coach.
Even if they don't have the best overall talent in The NHL, the way a team plays, and if they show they are moving towards being great, that attracts better players to want to play for that team. if they were known for playing that way, maybe they'd have landed DeKeyser or Panarin. Maybe a player like Stamkps would want to play for The Blues. The rich get richer because players want to play for those teams.
