To Edmonton: Rakell, Silfverberg & Montour.

To Anaheim: RNH, Larsson & Yamamoto.

Edmonton get their puckmoving defenceman in Montour, great winger for McDavid in Rakell and a defensive specialist in Silfvermountain.

Anaheim get their #2 center, a top-4 defensive defenceman on a great contract and a high-end forward prospect in Yamamoto.

Would possibly benefit both teams in terms on needs?

It's slightly benefits Edmonton, but wrecks Anaheim.

RNH will be McDavids winger for the forseeable future. Not even sure Rakell would be a better fit there. (Nuge should push a PPG pace there next season).

The only way adding Montour benefits the Oilers is if we get to keep both Larsson AND Montour. Trading Larsson makes this pretty lateral in terms of team need. We need to add RHD without losing any.

Silvferberg and Yamamoto might be a bit of a wash. Silvferberg is quite a bit more developed, but Yamamoto should get there.

In all 3 scenarios, Anaheim loses and Edmonton arguably doesn't get much better.

Rakell is WAAAY better than RNH and the ducks don’t need another center anyway with Getzlaf Henrique and Kesler. Yamamoto is far less proven than Silfverberg. And Montour is already better than Larsson and is also younger.

Doesn't make much sense for either team. Anaheim shouldn't be moving any of those guys. Edmonton shouldn't be moving theirs either but at least you could argue that they are getting an upgrade at forward. We need Montour and Larsson, not one or the other.

Bad deal for the Ducks, but Edmonton needs to keep Larsson and add a Montour type, and Silfverberg only has a year left on his deal so getting Yamamoto for him would be a coup.

It’s not good for Anaheim but there are worse deals on the trade board...

While this is a terrible deal for the Ducks (Rakell is the best player in the deal), the Kesler looks done.

Eh... I'd wait and see before calling him done. He had hip surgery and that has historically taken players close to a full year to fully recover from. This is exactly the sort of thing they were saying about Giroux last year too and he seems to have pulled out of it ok.

He's also 33 turning 34 soon. He's not Jamie Benn or Giroux. He'll probably be a tolerable 3C, but at $6.85M for the next four years... yikes.
