he'll play well with gilmour get 50 goals
his prime years were b4 gilmou r arrived wendel was already pretty beaten up by 83 and he was just 26

How do you figure he'll get 50 when his season high was 43, and that was his only 40+ goal season? Clark is a nice player, but I agree with Maxwell, you picked him way too high. 6 30+ goal seasons and only 1 season of more than 60 points. Nice playoff stats, but that's about it.

edit: looked at the stats wrong

I agree Wendel probably shouldn't have been picked, or at least not till near the last round, but he does bring more than just scoring. Thing I find interesting is GW made a top 50 + players list and I see at least 4 undrafted lws on that list, and there's a Leaf HOF lw available.

Its a dream team

I almost took andreychuk

Im going after as many leafs as I can get

If clark came to a stacked leafs club Im sure his #'s would be even better.

Reg Season 793 330 234 564 1690 Playoffs 95 37 32 69 201

don't forget Clark is the best player to be picked out of the 1985 draft! and a former #1 overall! :teach:

24 hours is up, Herby is now on the clock.

Learning_to_Fly can make his pick at anytime. If it becomes his pick again and he has not shown up we will have to decide what to do.

The Philadelphia Flyers select from Quebec City

Joe Malone

One of the great goal scorers of all time, including the epic year of 1917-18. 44 goals in just 20 games.

This is the ultimate steal of this draft. Bar none.

Well I don't know if Joe Malone can be considered a steal, I was considering taking him earlier but the game of hockey was much different back then (a time only Gee Wally can recall). What the hell is a rover?

A rover was usually the best player on his team, and pretty much played all over the ice, wherever the puck went, hence the name.

And yeah, it was very different in Malone's day. The rover was gone by then, but there was no forward passing allowed outside the neutral zone.

The Devils are proud to select two Hart Trophy winners.

Nels Stewart

and

Andy Bathgate

Stewart, "Old Poison", was the first scoring leader to win the Hart in 1926. He led the league in goals and was second in PIM. He set what was then the record for PIM with 133 in 1927.

Bathgate won the Hart in 1959, after being second in voting in 58. He tied Bobby Hull for the scoring lead in 62, and finished second to Gordie Howe in 63.
