Not with Horvat and Pettersson ahead of him.

I don't really look at it like that anymore anyways... I see a team more as a first and fourth line with a middle six... and "top 9" has always meant you don't have a true first line to me.

There actually a lot of site have him as a 3rd line/middle 6 center. Don't let the sexy stats in College trick you into thinking he is a top 2 center.

Don't sleep on him. Kesler and Horvat were also supposed to be only 3rd line centres as well. Watched the Beanpot and 3 other separate games and the kid is a sick player.

Kids with his work ethic just don't settle and usually exceed expectations.

But we just don't know until he turns pro

That's not a bad thing. Remember how awesome Malhotra was for us pre-injury? He was a very important role player on a Cup contending team. Or even Kesler before he broke out.

It's just easier to stomach if he only pans out as a 3rd line centre. He very well might be a top 6 forward, but it's better to not set expectations high and be disappointed. Also helps his confidence not having insane expectations put on him before even playing an NHL game.
