We thought Barkov was gonna be out for a long time last November and luckily he was week to week so im here hoping for something like that. If he needs to sit all the way to Playoffs so be it. All I want is to have the whole core intact for that.

IF he out for about 6 weeks and misses the rest of the regular season but could very well be ready for game 1 of the playoffs (where have I heard this before???) then I wonder if they don’t need to retain as much on giroux and therefore could offer slightly less? Although, maybe Philly doesn’t mind if it means getting the most assets back. If we could save some, I wonder if we use the remaining assets we would’ve used to add an additional bench piece or something. I guess we’ll find out first tomorrow the severity of the injury but Monday is fast approaching
