So far so good. I know the leafs caught post a ton but the Flyers won and the leafs took it out on the caps. Maybe Couts comes in now lights it up and the Canes take it out on the Caps in their next games.

I think the thing that most here are upset about is the fact that it's obviously a punishment. If you're sitting him because you think he's hurt and/or wearing down, and he needs a break, you would tell him. If you thought he needed a game or two to get his head together, stop gripping his stick so tight, relax, and get his scoring mojo back, you'd tell him. I think most here would agree that either of those reasons are reasonable given how he's looked over the past few months.

You only sit him without communication if you're sending a message about his effort and attention to detail on the ice, which I don't think anyone has ever criticized Couturier for.

Again, if you think Laughton and Cates are better centers than Couts at any aspect of hockey and that shit truck gives you a better chance to win, you and anyone involved with hiring you should be fired immediately.
