Looks like it. Playing at that size, and getting injured that often, isn't a great combo.

I'm guessing that the Jets saw an early round talent dropping on account of injuries and thinking/hoping that we'll get very good value if he stops being injured.

And stops being tiny.

Is this a 20-80 (2.0-8.0) scouting scale?

More Swedes! Next thing you know there will only be one liquor store in Winnipeg and it will close at 6pm

Edit: Just realized some posters might not know so here is context Systembolaget - Wikipedia

We basically already have that. It closes at 10:00 or 11:00, and there are myriad locations, but it's the same idea. The Liquor Marts, known colloquially as the 'L.C.' ('Liquor Commission') are a crown corporation--a for-profit government monopoly on liquor.

We can buy beer and wine from private stores, though the Liquor Marts also carry those. Weed is all from private stores (and the age is higher for a good reason that's nonetheless mildly infuriating).

I had no idea! Thanks for that

Clearly has a ton of talent, but must overcome the lack of ideal size. But you can’t have it all this deep in the draft. Nice addition for the Jets. There isn’t currently a pure offensive dman in the prospect group aside from Heinola is there? He might have a spot open for him in 4 years (Ahem, De Melo).

I could see league cracking down on the big running hits on vulnerable dmen at some point. May reduce injuries and change the landscape for dmen.

Doesn’t exactly replace some of the toughness we lost on D, does he? Still, he looks like an underrated puck moving defence man.

This kid is at least 3-4 years away. That’s a silly comment to make. This pick is hoping to find a diamond in the rough. Tons of talent but really has to add some weight and maintain that mobility.

Sounds nothing like Toby. Only comparable in size and nationality. Now if his defensive game develops to what Toby could do, we got a steal.

Granted, Toby was an excellent skater. Just didn’t have crazy speed like this guy may have.

Toby wasn't a finished product at 18. He was a 7th rounder, I think.

Their play style is very different, even at the same age. That's Duke's point who has been following Enstrom for longer than many of us haha.

And unless this kid changes his stick length I don’t see many other comparisons. But if he can keep the good gap and learn how to absorb the physical contact better he can make it. Enstrom was such a smart player that knew how to defend effectively without doing it the traditional way. Any shorter defenseman coming out of Sweden should watch how he defended. It was a work of art.

This kids biggest obstacle right now is probably his weight. He’s gonna need to be around 180lbs give or take to be an NHLer. Hard part will be keeping that speed.
