The value in picks, especially when talking about the Jeannot trade, is the asset itself, not the player it will turn into.

What I mean is, I dont think anybody is looking at the Jeannot trade as being a disaster because of all the prospects we lost out on. It was a disaster because we spent so many assets on Jeannot that it left the cupboard bare, which probably just cost us Hanafin.

We spent so many assets on one guy that it is very hard to imagine improving the team through trade now. It creates an unfair expectation on Jeannot, but it's not about losing prospects.
