These next 2 games make it out to be a bloodbath with the past results against these 2 teams. I feel it will get out of hand quickly.

Hope we can win and have a fun game. Without Trouba and Rempe the game lost possible fireworks!
If I was the coach, move Jeannot to the 3rd line and put Watson over Sheary (I don't care the goals, I put him on waivers any day and buyout)

Tampa comes out flat.
Rangers score 3 quick ones.
Coast 2nd period.
Try hard for last 5 minutes of the 3rd.
Tale as old as time.

I find Cooper's quote troubling. They're playing tough teams and he's just talking about getting some points. It should be balls to the wall talk, take no prisoners. Not let's not wake up and be sad we missed out on some points.
Of course he's never been that type of coach so it is what it is. It just doesn't sound like a coach who's team is fighting for a playoff spot.

Whining rant over.

Go Bolts!!!!

Sadly this is exactly what I am expecting. It has nothing to do with this season or where we are at in it. It's just that this is exactly what happens when the team goes too long between games. If there is any more than 2 days between games you can expect a trainwreck. Plug in a back to back in that scenario and we're somehow always dead exhausted by the 2nd period of that 2nd game and you'd wonder that they even had more than 3 or more days off

Must be trouble with his ankle or knee? Coming back 1 game and NOPING it right away only to miss another month.
Even in that return game where he didn't play in the 3rd period, he was still on the bench and skated out to be in the fist-bump line postgame. Didn't appear to be labored or in pain then, I assumed it was just precautionary. Surprising that he'd miss so much time based on that.

Can Jeannot actually hurt someone with his fist and contribute on the scoresheet and with his body?
Can Cernak hit someone and back it through a whole game?
CAn Vasi bring his A game tonight?
Last but not least can Jeannot and Cernak make it a whole game without getting hurt.
We need our great trade deadline acquisition from last year to earn his 2.665 million salary and the king's ransom we sent for him keeping us from acquiring Hanifin, Taresenko, and Manta.
Duclair and Dumba need to have another great game to erase the failures of JBB and Jeannot since the last trade deadline.

He didn't fail with any of those 3 traded players. Hanifin it seems was never getting traded here because of Conroy trying to save face or stick it to Hanifin, Edmonton, w/e. Tarasenko had a full ntc, would've been a pure rental, and Tampa still had the assets to acquire him. Mantha would've also likely been a rental, and it was clear Tampa wasn't that interested. He made a short to mid term blunder with the Jeannot trade(although he couldn't have foreseen the injuries he was gping to have), and the Sheary signing thus far. The RFA extensions are overpays in the short term, but all 3 have plenty of time to make those contracts look great, not to mention a steadily rising cap will mitigate thelr hits.

Cernak, Cirelli, and Sergachev deals are terrible until all players take at least one step forward and some of them two.
The jeannot trade was absolutely terrible for a below average 3rd liner and 4th line goon. you can sign those for free.

Cernak's deal is far from terrible, and Cirelli is only overpaid by 750k or so. Sergachev is the only one that seemed massively overpaid based on what most thought the ceiling of his deal would be(around 7ish seemed to be the max of what most were comfortable giving him). In the end, he gambled on Jeannot being the player he was the year before the trade, and he lost that one. Given the number of moves that have worked out very well, he's still far, far ahead.

I'm looking for three things.
  1. no softie early goals from Vasy.
  2. No fancy pants in defensive end, if its breaking down just ice the puck if you have to.
  3. Put pucks on net. Greasy goals count.

Worried that Dumba will turn it over trying to do too much in tight games. His puck handling/control has declined in recent years

You mean Jeannot from 2 seasons prior where he was on the pp1 with their 1st line center nd their other top winger on the pp where he stood in front of net? He scored 5 goals in 56 games the prior season. He looked slower and not good right before we acquired him. We should have bought low onsteading of paying the cost of a real top 6 winger or a top 2 defenseman. Nothing about Jeannot the year we acquired him shows he was worth anything more than a 3rd round pick at best .
