Shouldn't there be some sort of time restriction on how long a team has to matching offers. A GM could come back a month from now and say I couldn't get on the net but I match this guy. Just saying. Thats all folks. Back to beer drinking I go

Sabres match the offer for Gordon and also there were numerous other bids i placed...noting that I was looking for 2 D-men. so why have I only signed one in that case with about 8 of the guys I wanted still available?

Which 8 guys? I can only find Gauthier and Fedorov, who is in Europe and inegliable for HFNHL FA's. I decided just to skip him rather than take it up with the Admin team to hand out penalties to the teams making offers on him and a few others who went to Europe months ago.
