I thought my offer for 7.2 over the next four years would be enough but I guess not :( Gomez would have been perfect to my top 6 now I will have to go out and look for a replacement. Congracts Pasi, Scott will score alot of points for you.

Sedin-Demitra-Ryan, Franzén-Nylander-Fedotenko will be Tampas top 6 for this upcoming season, will this be enough for the playoffs? I have no clue.

David Leneveu just went to Europe....can I just release him now, or do I have to wait til next year?

He, along with PJ Axelson who I also think signed in Europe, will be move to their new teams and then moved to the prospects list. From there you can release them - there will also be a further opportunity to do so later before the season starts.

So close, yet so far on Mayers and Asham. Guess the grit will come at the deadline.

I needed them badly. My forwards aren't the heartiest. Just wish I could have grabbed Adams, too. I'm still 1 bottom pairing forward short of where I want to be.

I needed them badly too, but until I see how the ratings come down, couldn't afford to go higher than I did. You outbid me by 100k on each player, but even my offers were risky given where my cap situation stands right now

My forwards are stronger than they are tough though. Guys like Staal, Malkin, Stafford and Laich all bring size but not IT ratings, but I've been operating under the philosophy that defensive ability trumps grit on the bottom two lines.

Oh well, another year, another IT-deficient team. At least the Flames remain in my division. ;)

Is there going to be a second round of free agency, or can offers to players who remain unsigned simply be sent in now on a first come, first serve basis?

Give us a day to catch our breath and re-group and make sure all the free agency so far is correct. From there expect an announcement on a second phase of free agency.

Shouldn't there be some sort of time restriction on how long a team has to matching offers. A GM could come back a month from now and say I couldn't get on the net but I match this guy. Just saying. Thats all folks. Back to beer drinking I go
