Yegor Surin,an interesting and complete prospect.
Yegor Surin, the troublemaker of the 2024 NHL draft
I agree on the fact that there’s big room for improvement on the D side. He was easy to follow and get some games on the net and get a grip on who he is on ice. I’m reminded of Sergachev here where he had to learn to become passable on the D side of things. I don’t doubt he will get better on the back on another year in the NCAA and a year in the AHL to get the work he needs too. The package is too enticing to me, considering he’s on the right side. That’s great value thoughout the league. He has been in NA for two full years (played for GB in USHL for a season before MSU) and I still haven't been impressed by the lack of structure in his defensive game and his constant poor reads. I know I'm in the very small minority here but I wouldn't spend a top 5 pick on a dman with such questionable hockey IQ and desire to play defense. Amazing skills/tools and he's built like a greek god but I think he's going to be in for a wake up call at the next level when ability to think the game is so crucial no matter how impressive your tools are.
I'm still hoping that the Habs manage to get another top 15 pick.I'm fairly confident we will get one of these two and all the Iginla Sennecke Catton Helenius debates will be for nothing
Pretty close to mine:1 - Celebrini
2 - Demidov
3 - Lindestrom
4 - Levshunov
5 - Buium
That’s my top 5 I want.
I don't see the Habs passing on Demidov or Lindstrom if they are still available.Feels like Lindstrom is the guy most of the casual fans talk about. I hope we won't get a repeat of the Reinbacher meltdown if he's not the one in the end
Nobody else wants to post a beefcake list? My list was so intimidating with their big body presence?
I can't see Sennecke going 5i've watched 2 games so far, he's shown some flashes but has weak ankles and balance.
I ignored it cause you had Letourneau in the 3rd when he's going round 1 lol
Until HuGo trade up with the 2nd pick.I'm fairly confident we will get one of these two and all the Iginla Sennecke Catton Helenius debates will be for nothing
With Werenski being injured a lot in Columbus it makes me wonder if they won’t take a LD with their first? There’s been a lot of chatter about getting Little Johnny going but that team falls apart without Werenski. Maybe Buium?
Oof that'll be one of the picks of all time.
Sounds like a Flyers type of pick.Newest NHL draft class podcast has Pat Cullen from central scouting and made a comparison of Connolley to Pettersson. He didn't talk about the off-ice incidents, though, but whichever team in the mid-teens, early 20s is going to get themselves a good player with a good amount of backlash.
I'm here for it, I'd take the swing with the Jets pick depending on the board. You rarely get those soft skills in those big guys and he seems to know he has to go the long way round
Stop trying to make Canadian highschool hockey happen, it's not going to happen.
I agree that Cole would be better with Dach. He needs someone that looks for him time and time again. Dach doesn’t like shooting and is a big body. It would be a great fit. Roy on the other wing to do the little things for the line.I'm officially #teamTij
Looks like the perfect compliment to a line with Suzuki and Slaf. No disrespect to Caufield I just don't think that's his proper spot, prefer him with Dach on 2nd line.
