Did the NFL forget to consider that those poor souls over at EA are gonna have to do more than just the roster update file for this year's Madden now?

Pretty inconsiderate of them tbh

Eh, I like it, less having to pay attention to family members is a positive
How is the NFL going to schedule the prior or following game for the participants? TNF is a stretch for those who play Sunday. Would need the participants in that Xmas day game to play the prior Sat. So, need like SEA/SF and AZ/LAR to play on Sat, then assign SF/LAR to play on Xmas.

The teams will have had to have had played the previous Thursday or Saturday. That’s it.

It's the only way to do it. Basically having the same teams in stand alone games for both days.
There will likely be 2 games the previous Saturday, so it'll be 6 teams to choose from, and most likely it will be a divisional matchup, or at least one where the road team has a short flight. Probably have some combination of AFC North/East or NFC North

why not just get rid of the kickoff altogether?

just have teams start at the 25 yard line. and it's not like onside kicks matter anyways since they already ruined that years ago

the snip from Red Devil quote Breer, seems to indicate it's just going to be the Saturday teams.

Because for TNF, both teams are getting the same short week to ensure some level of fairness. At most the NFL allows 1 day rest difference between the 2 teams.

That's a big part of what they're hoping this fixes. Kickoffs have been irrelevant for a while, but hopefully, these rules will lead to us seeing more kick returns. We'll see. I hope we get more entertainment out of kickoffs.
