I think Verstappen retiring might've actually ruined this race, could've possibly been a good fight between him and Sainz.

Russell what on earth are you doing...

I know this season seems to be the most extreme example of it since the 5th and 6th best cars has been pretty big, but I think F1 should consider expanding their points system. No one outside the top 5 teams is currently getting points without a problem for the cars in front. The places 6-10 in the constructors will be decided by who happens to be the best in the races where there's a lot of cars dropping out, instead of who actually does the best job throughout the season. I wouldn't mind MotoGP's version of top 15 getting points, or some variation of it.

I enjoyed watching that race for not having to see a shot of Christian Horner every five minutes

We did get robbed of a real scrap for the win but we can all take heart here... Ferrari win and perhaps some more good scraps to come.

In a way, this feel accurate, because Aston and Mercedes have been close enough at times so we can't even quite tell which team is indeed 5th (Mercedes was definitely better in Bahrein, but has serious stability issues that hampered it big time in Jeddah and Australia due to those tracks being more flowing, high-speed turns heavy tracks, and next is Suzuka so it probably won't be any better) but that VCARB driver pairing is .... Not good. Like, and I know this is gonna shock some people, arguably worst on the grid not good. And it's making the car look worse than it really is. Tsunoda is becoming overrated because somehow Daniel Ricciardo has been assumed to (still) be, at the very worst, a median F1 driver. He's not. The only driver I'm certain is worst than Ricciardo is Sargent.

This is shamelessly stolen by a poster on another forum, but these would've been the standings last year with the top 6 getting points. I don't know what's the appeal on 40% of the grid being without points.

1. Verstappen 204
2. Perez 75
3. Hamilton 49
4. Norris 48
5. Alonso 46
6. Leclerc 45
7. Sainz 39
8. Russell 28
9. Piastri 16
10. Stroll 9
11. Ocon 7
12. Gasly 6

1. Red Bull - Honda 279
2. Ferrari 84
3. Mercedes 77
4. McLaren - Mercedes 64
5. Aston Martin - Mercedes 55
6. Alpine - Renault 13

The only thing that saved the top 6 for points era was the fact there was so much attrition in a 26 car field. Even then a point for the midfield was precious. I feel half the field is right.

A Williams crashes
A new boss cries
Albon has his foot, to the floor
Sir Frank opens his eyes
The confusion sets in
Before the team mechanics can even close the door
A Williams crashes
Random wildlife dies
a little fox run over by the floor
Clair Williams rolls her eyes
The confusion that was hers
Belongs now, to Mr James Vowles
Oh, now feel it coming back again
Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind
Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again
I can feel it
A Williams crashes
Logan Sargeant cries
This moment he's been waiting for
The ghost of Pastor Maldonado knocks at the door
Pale blue colored iris presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide, hide
Oh, now feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the Earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it coming back again
Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind
Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it coming back again

The Ricciardo to Red Bull hype train went off the rails quite fast.
Genuinely no idea why anyone would have thought this was viable at any point. It's amazing what smiling a lot can do for your image.

I feel like F1 fans have a tendency to live in the past even more so than other sports fans.

Just watching season 6 episode 7... you could see the pure greaseball that is Bruno Famin.. Alpine deserve to be exactly where they are.

My fecal bulk has more leadership ability than him... what a sack of shit that guy is.. sell to Andretti and get on with it.

I was skeptical but Christian Horner was the one who put him through some tests and said he passed with flying colors. Why Red Bull went through all this I'll never know. Danil Kvyat beat Riccardo one year. I'd rather try him instead
