Honestly I won’t be mad at it. Do I want the Kings to get tossed around by the Oilers or get stomped on by the Stars? And we all know that Vancouver would solve the system sooner than later. We f***ed either way, no playoffs means less trauma lol.
I dont know.. its sort of fascinating to see things thrown into a woodchipper :)

It's funny. There are some bad seasons in Kings history...a lot more bad than good. But even in the bad you got the sense we were building towards something...exciting youth, a high draft pick, some passion and fun, at least physical play for pride.

This might be one of the most pointless and depressing seasons in Kings history, watching a capped out, aging out, boring, soft, answerless team devoid of futures flail around buoyed only by a hot start, hurtling towards an endless black hole guided by incompetent executives whose understudies that would inevitably take over might be worse than they are and being fellated by the local media for it.

Now I remember why I was losing interest in hockey the FIRST time Blake burned the franchise on his way out, thanks Rob, for being such a pivotal figure in LA hockey.

Byfield has no goals in his last 16, and one goal in his last 24 games. And he’s playing with Kopitar and Kempe. That’s impressive.
I think its his first season really getting off the leash and really running for the first time. I think he just got burnt out. I am not the one to make excuses but its a common thing with players. But nevertheless it definitely hurts his negotiating power with how invisible he's been for a long time.

Missed the game tonight boys but I assume we won, this should've been an easy one for us. How'd we do? Can anyone fill me in? Did PLD look good?

They look at cash flow, they don’t give a rip about the on ice product.
Remaining regular season home game tickets are 20% off on the front page of Kings web page. The Caps and the Blues, two other borderline playoff teams, do not have discounted tickets advertised on their front pages. Take that as you will regarding cash flow for the Kings.

Byfield slumpin but important to note....In Kempes 3rd season he finished with 11 goals and 32 points. Not going to bag on the kid.

That said 78 games into the season- What exactly does PLD bring to the table? Doesnt play PK, doesnt play PP, not known as faceoff guy or defensive specialists, not overly physical. What specifically is that he brings to the team? To me he looks like a very average NHL Player. You can see the skill in Kopi/Kempe/Fiala and others have. They pass the "eye test" as they say. Byfield slumping but earlier in the season he made some amazing passes and plays that got your attention and saw the combo of skill and size. PLD 156th overall in scoring and really showed there is nothing he excels at. Not bashing him per se....I literally dont see any type of skill set that makes him stand out at all. Id almost rather have traded for anyone named Foligno.

Not defending him in the slightest, but he has more skill than Kempe, and Kopitar, what he doesn't have is drive/motivation/heart, that those two have.....

World is littered with uber skill players that had no desire.....PLD is one of those.

I think with Q it’s not that surprising. At the start of the season we were hoping he’d maybe be breaking out and by the coaching change he was our best forward for about a 2 month stretch. You could see he was taking that responsibility with his play and from interviews. He hasn’t yet had the chance physically to have completed a full season, then there is playing at an elite level (which he absolutely was) for a long stretch plus the mental/emotional toll of being such an important piece. He looks tired, if not slightly burnt out and it’s to be expected. Once we clinch there is a case for sitting him simply for a rest.
