A lot of these guys are likely dejected. Sounds dumb and they shouldn’t be. But I expected a bit of a slow start from some of these guys.

Roster Notes:

There haven’t been any new transactions between Ottawa and Belleville since Wednesday’s matchup with Milwaukee, but that could change. Ottawa defender Erik Brannstrom was injured in their game against the New York Islanders on Thursday night, so there’s a chance that another blueliner could be recalled to help support the NHL parent club. Full lineup information for tonight’s contest will be available prior to puck drop.

Who to Watch:

Rookie defenceman Tyler Kleven is the only Senator with points in consecutive games, or better. The 25-year-old from Fargo, North Dakota has assists in back-to-back games, as he finds his legs in the American Hockey League. Egor Sokolov had an assist on Wednesday against Milwaukee and has been buzzing offensively, despite only finding the back of the net once so far this season. The Sens all-time leading point-getter has registered six shots in each of his last two games.

The Marlies have two players riding four-game point streaks into tonight’s contest. Joseph Blandisi has six points (two goals, four assists) over that span, while Max Ellis has notched an assist in each of his last four games. Toronto’s lineup also boasts four players with points in back-to-back games, including Nick Abruzzese, Kyle Clifford, Alex Steeves, and Ryan Tverberg.

At the rink:
Tonight is Loyalist College Student and Alumni Night, as the Senators and Loyalist celebrate their partnership. Loyalist College students and alumni are eligible for a special ticket rate, with a link to purchase being circulated by the college. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to check out the “Loyalist Student Showcase”, featuring information and interactive displays from various Loyalist College programs. The “Loyalist Student Showcase” will be located around the CAA Arena concourse and will run until the end of the second intermission.

Follow the action:

Tonight’s game can seen on AHL TV and heard on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.

I like these callups, both defencemen have good size & should not get pushed around, both are mobile, one is a left shot & the other a right shot & both can produce some offence. Why is Merilainen been called up, do we also have a goalie injury?
