The problem for them is that 3 of those 4 players consider the US option. If none show up, they will get their picks back but they will have to postpone their cycle. I was surprised they didn't select Kearsey with pick #23. That kind of D-Man would have greatly benefited from the bigger rink in my opinion.
I think they didn't want more US options after picking 3 the night before. I think they simply could have picked a Carbonneau ou Durocher at 18 instead of Leroux and picked Kearsey at 23 and they would have a forward that's probably better and 100% showing up, and they'd have a potential elite D in the pipeline.

I'm no goalie specialist but it could be dangerous to base an evaluation on the Q-Cup Challenge. In 2018, Lavallée had a very tough challenge (.821%). Out of the 12 goalies that were there, only him, Coulombe and Lapenna were able to establish themeselves in the league. But I agree that Langevin is one of the top goalies to be considered.
to add on the goalies, i looked many times, and did not find Liam Furey being drafted at all.

anyone knows what happened? advised teams he would not report?

I believe both he and Conner Arsenault are headed to St Andrew's College Prep in the fall

The 2022 draft for Atlantic Canadian kids sits well behind those of recent years. Only 11 players drafted in the first 3 rounds and only 22 drafted in the first 100 picks.
4 in the first round is low as well....and this is considering that most of the guys who were on the fence have decided to report to the Q, had Philips and Shields flipped...we could have seen only 2 taken in the first round.
Looking at some of the best value picks at the draft...based on where they were picked and the potential to be a Q player down the road.
Kearsey at 32
Waugh at 48
Arsenault at 56
James at 86
Clarke at 141

Just curious how many 06 players will crack the Q rosters?
Most Maritime teams aren't yet confirmed but this would be around where it will end up -

Lemieux F
Bernier D

Cape Breton (3)
Lavoie D
Shields F
Desruisseault F

Moncton (2)
Fortier-Gendron D
Smith F

Halifax (2)
Phillips D
Peitzsche F

Charlottetown (2)*
Kearsey D

So 26 '06s at this point.

17 F
7 D
2 G

In the Maritimes, there are a few who could still make their squads but are on the outside looking in -

SJ - tough to say as there isn't much news out of there. Calder and Richard are still around at least, I believe.

CHA - Campbell, Nicholson, Duguay?

HAL, CB, and MON will be the guys listed above, BAT have no '06s remaining in camp.

Tough to stay on top of right now so might be wrong somewhere, but thats the general situation.

An impressive first weekend for some 06's!!!

-Poirier with a debut hat-trick
-Lacerte has 5a in 2 games, including his first point less than a minute into the first game of the season
-Kennedy with a goal on his first shift, less than a minute into the season

D'Aigle, Zonnon and Carbonneau being late birthdays, they will obviously be excluded from this.

Lavoie, Massé, Poirier, Desruisseaux, Lacerte, Kearsey, Phillips, Smith might have a shot imo...
Should not have that many from Q. Q is least favorite of HC.
