These teams played 3 series in September, the Padres were able to win 1 game in each series, which is a big improvement as before that the Dodgers were dominating them.

So I think they will win 1 game. Dodgers in 4.

That's why it was important for the teams that swept - in theory, you only used your #1 and #2 and they should be ready to go again for game 2 of the DS.

It's not sweeping that is important as it is not using up the pitching staff. Still going against a division winner with a fully rested pitching staff is a tough hurdle. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the WC playoff teams won.

NHL needs to consider reformatting the playoffs so that division winners are given more of an edge than today. This will help lesson the advantages of abusing the LTIR system.
