That looked similar to the Wilson injury last season. He missed the equivalent of 4 weeks due to the bye week Seattle had but he was not effective for the first 2 weeks he came back.

That’s where I’m basing it on.

He’ll come back too early and look off
This isn’t a knee or a rib. It’s his throwing hand like Wilson’s finger on his throwing hand. Won’t be good if he returns too early. But there other options isn’t great for Dallas so they almost have no choice.

They play Jax next. Last years Jags they could probably win with Daniels at QB. With Pederson as the HC , not so sure. LAC, Like Denver can’t afford to drop games that they should win especially since this is an AFC opponent which matters more in the tie breaker Situation.

No one in the AFC that is intending to compete, particularly in the AFC West, can afford to take a single game off this year.

The priority is always your divisional games, then it's your conference games, then it's the non-conference games. And it's the conference head to heads that really impact your WC standings. The AFC West plays the South this season. So, if the Chargers drop the game to Jax, puts more emphasis on beating Indy & Ten later in the season when Herbert returns.
But, like you said, the margin for error in the AFC is very slim this season.

Not giving it its own thread because it's not 100 percent official yet, but man what a blow for the Titans.

Might be going from a #1 seed to a team that might legitimately be staring down the beginning of a full rebuild in fairly short order
