Our offense would struggle even if he was fully healthy:laugh:
Very true... I like the look of the team but we are down 3 goalies, a drafted D and 2 good forwards. I'll cheer to the end like always!

Any idea why the D taken in first 100 isn't invited? Forgot his name but drafted after hamara and before Spacek.

I am confused... Plays in whl and big and we lost krutil.

I will say... This draft had 3 d in top 100 and 4 overall... That is great!!!!
I've only seen Alscher in clips, but he could be a decent replacement for Krutil.
Even so, that group of defenders is very good, it will probably be the typical place for Krutil Šedivý.

Trnava, Slovakia
6-3 win for Switzerland. Simon Knak was easily the best player on the ice. Czechs are gonna need their drafted forwards to play a lot better. I see the same Sapovilav from the OHL, a lot more floating around the ice than driving and creating

Hope this Line-up isn't the final one…
Some defensive players did not play. Myšák and Gut were missing in the attack, otherwise everyone played. The attack is terribly weak, perhaps the best striker will be Kulich, who is two years younger.

The attack is weak, even if Mysak and Gut could join… Look like Mysak hasn't joined camp, hockey Czech didn't post his photo. I heard he injured in the playoffs, not sure if he'll be ready. I also don't know why Gut didn't play yesterday.

Today Svozil got shoulder checked against the boards at the end of 2nd period, and was holding his hand/wrist awkwardly after the hit. Didn't return for the 3rd. I guess soon we'll find out how serious it was...

Not good... Also a reason why some top guys are saying no to the tourney. Svozil needs a solid and healthy season. He has some NHL potential but will have to work hard for it.

Yeah, I was hoping to see him at Jackets development camp couple weeks ago but he decided to stay in Czech... for whatever reason. IMO he was pretty impressive last year in training camp, he could get his first crack in the NHL as early as this year, provided there will be call-ups and he will start the season in AHL. Not sure though if another year in the WHL, as Regina's #1D, would be better for his development.

Speaking of Svozil and "willingness to work hard", could you help me with the translation below? It's a google translated quote from Svozil interview (July 12th):

Nejlepší Bedard, radost z Jiříčka. Budil mě kvůli němu brácha, líčí Svozil
Soon you will have the postponed world championship "twenties" in Canada. Can a player be in top form so soon?
"I don't feel like working hard right now, but there's nothing I can do. I certainly didn't want to apologize. If we prepare well, it is possible to get in shape. I am very much looking forward to the World Cup. A lot of guys are in development camps now, they will fly back in the next few days. By the names, we might have high ambitions, but I'd keep my feet on the ground. I was on the ice only once until Monday, but I trained de facto every day in Olomouc and Přerov. I ran, I worked out. It was the most challenging summer of my career so far."

"I don't feel like working hard right now, but there's nothing I can do. I certainly didn't want to apologize."

Is this an accurate translation? Why he doesn't feel like working hard? Something more to the context that I'm not aware of?

Not very accurate. He talks about the WJC, that he doesn't feel like it's the ideal time of the year to train for a top level tournament but he didn't want to reject the National Team invitation.

I didn't see it, the four hour shift was rather surprising.. Well, we shot seven shots on goal in two thirds, it's probably not worth discussing any more. It would take a miracle for this team to get a good result. The attack is just eerily weak. And the defense isn't playing well either. But no one descends, that's good..

Glad mysak and svozil are going.

Happy with D and G.

F is weak even for us.

With luck a bronze (it is a good D) but most likely 5th to 6th.
Remind me they lost to Germany in the cancelled tournament in December…The offense depends on Kulich's performance, just my own opinion.

Kulich has looked great... I just wish I could name 6 forwards that will get 4 points or more in the tourney.
I like Gut a lot and am surprised he went undrafted.

yea, Gut has a great year, unfortunately his draft year is a little tough, and it's a lot harder for overagers to get drafted

Mladý tým? Ano. Příprava na prosinec? V žádném případě, odmítá Rulík | Hokej.cz - web českého hokeje (google translate):
And have you had any other health problems?
Adam Měchura also did not play any matches, he injured his hand in the first training session. But we are in touch with a specialist doctor who said he could play with it. On Friday, he goes to see him and the doctor creates a splint for him so that there is no risk of him getting into that place again. Standa Svozil still had a bumped shoulder and did not play the last match with the Finnish 20. We have a few bumps but it shouldn't be anything serious and we should be fine for the championship.

I assume "bumped shoulder" was the result of that hit, very happy to learn he should be good to go for the start of tourney.
