If we turn Burns into something like Gurianov+Faksa+2nd and then maybe try to pry Mayfield out of NYI, damn that would be a good day.

Burns at $4M is worth a 1st IMO. Over the next 3 years delivering at #2 D, #3 D, #4 D is totally reasonable. I'd love to see that, as the team gets worse, we get assets, and Burns gets to chase a cup.

Retaining $12M would be insane and should cost multiple 1st round picks. That amount of retention is unprecedented.

LeBrun said there were a few players involved so it's probably not a 1-for-1 situation but I expect them to retain 1-2 mil on Burns and take back Gardiner so it'll be interesting to see what else is involved.

Grier and staff filling out the rest of the roster while selling off more pieces.

Our depth chart atm:

LW: Meier, Eklund, Nieto, Lorentz, Viel

C: Hertl, Couture, Bonino, Bordeleau, Reedy, Weatherby

RW: Barananov, (handful of U21 players)

Forwards RFAs: Chemelevski, Gadjovich, Gregor, Kunin

Damn...that sucks. And it's probably better than the defense.

Looks like the board got its wish for a tank for Bedard season.

The biggest problem with the roster is trying to keep Timo

They should move him early in the season if they cant agree to an extension.

Wholly agree with this. I think it’ll be telling if he gets extended or dealt whether there’s a good plan or not. Certainly not that simple, but I think it’s an indicator. Don’t want a Frankie Montas situation where he might get hurt too.

I’d like to see the Sharks keep the open cap space and serve as a pass through to eat cap for deadline deals such as Kane and Toews and get picks. Get a couple extra mid-round picks and be bad enough to be a high lottery pick.

Any customer service crap about being competitive should be just that. Sell upper bowl tix for $10 for college and high school students 24 hours before game time. Let’s just enjoy riding it straight to hell for a couple years.

Hertl is probably regretting re-signing. Wonder if he'll ask out. If we trade Hertl, Couture, Reimer and EK ends on IR like usual we have a shot at Bedard.

If you slot in Labanc where Kunin is and move Kunin down to Nieto's spot, it's probably a forward line up that works compositionally

Lindblom on the top line seems like a bad idea. If he's going to work here, it's going to be as a 3rd liner. Same with Kunin.

Right now, I feel like this is what our lineup looks like after the moves thus far.

Eklund-Hertl-Barabanov
Bonino-Couture-Meier
Lindblom-Bordeleau-Kunin
Viel-Reedy-Lorentz

Ferraro-Karlsson
Megna-Merkley
Vlasic-Knyzhov

Nieto and Simek as extras

That top line is real bad. Eklund and Barabanov should not be on the same line.
