Yes you nailed it. Watch them go on a meaningless streak in late March and April, killing our draft position, and feeding false hope to the fanbase over the summer.

I am a hockey fan because it is an enjoyable pastime and a distraction from the real world. But we're now going on 6 years of pure misery and meaningless hockey. Being out of playoff contention this early means that I don't get to enjoy any hockey at all this year.
Save yourself the time and don’t watch any full games.

Its the curse of Alfie and the only one who can break it is Erik Karlsson.

It’s also kinda nice because you know Poo-jeans Melnyck isn’t here to say something stupid and make it worse.

We just suck - don’t watch much and it ain’t so bad. Watch a lot and it hurts.

honestly I can’t think of another Sens season where I’ve completely lost interest so quickly. I watched every Guy Boucher eyes bleeding most boring hockey ever invented, I’ve watch 90% of the games since we started sucking and this season is the most apathetic I’ve ever been

Ever since they fired Muckler this team has been in some type of disarray. Ever since Alfie left they’ve been cursed

Yes I've been finding it very hard to tune in the last few weeks

I'm not too excited to watch the games lately either. I skipped yesterday's trouncing by NJ, and probably won't stay up to watch any of the west-coast games. I've been to two games this season, was excited for those games. I don't have any plans to go again.

The announced intent-of-sale of the team is kind of paralyzing this team's ability to adjust, and it seems like the excitement about this season has stalled as we wait for that to resolve.

I think Dorion thought that JBD and Thomson could be full time NHLers about 2-3 years after their draft season, even if it was in 3rd pairing borderline 2nd pairing roles. Similar to how Seabrook (drafted in 03, full time nhler by 05-06 season) and Keith (draft in 02, full time nhler in 05-06). Not saying Dorion thought the players would end up being as elite as guys like Seabrook and Keith were, but that some of his initial first round picks would be farther along in their development.

Dorion probably assumed that JBD and Thomson, who've had at least 3 years of development each would have been full time third pairing guys at the least.
The team could have K’Andre Miller instead!

Let's see the great Ottawa Senators myths.
1) presently; 31st out of 32 teams. FYOUS, has really has become: f*** you to us.
2) Brian Murray becomes GM in 07. The team slowly slides into the toilette. Then they promote his underling!!! Not fire him in 2011 but give Brian another 5 years. And local Ottawa media wants Murray in the Hall of Fame. Really! Hall of Shame maybe. And now 6 years of Pierre from Orleans. So, 15 years of bad and even worse management.
3) The Sens can draft...in what sport? It sure as hell cannot be hockey.. almost 20 years of negligible productivity.
4) and last but not least; "the Kids are alright". It is only fitting that the writer of that song has a questionable history when it comes to child porn. As it applies to the SENS, it's child abuse. Only these kids are killing us!! And what kids? By the time this is fulfilled, the kids this was first written about will have retired. Their best forward is 35 year old Claude Giroux and he is not even an inhouse product.

f'ng shit.

An owner who !!!! (may he rest in peace)
A GM whose proudest moment is a Brannstrom for Stone trade. Strangest f'ng thing. Stone is captain of a team 3rd overall. But hey, we got Brannie and Sokolov.. A 5'9" piece of jello and a 6'2" piece of hardened jello... Damn, that really is Pierre's best day.
A coach who has thus far accumulated 85 wins. He is ~ 1150 wins behind Scottie. It will take him roughly 46 more years to pass Bowman. I hope he has his HOF speech written already. 46 years will come up on you fast.

We need an American owner to come up. Someone with typical Americana attitude. Fire everyone. Heck the janitor who cleans the toilettes has to go. But please hang to Brannie and Sokolov. Do they call him Sock, or Suck?

I don't mind other guys dancing with my girl
That's fine, I know them all pretty well
But I know sometimes I must get out in the light
Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright
The kids are alright

The team sucks, players sucks, management sucks and yes the fans sucks too, the only bright light is the sale of the team to I hope owners who will put in place a GM and coaching staff that actually knows what the hell they're doing. Hey look at the NJD they're good this year but they have been brutal the last 10 years making the playoffs only once, so bottom line it takes a long time to go from rebuilt to playoff.
