RandomizerHow was the bracket determined?
For the next vote (year from now), do y’all think we should stick to the same bracket or should it be re-randomized?
random generator
yeah that one!Like the "random generator" that landed a certain person 2nd overall?
I vote no. I would prefer a different opponent 1st round. Getting TORCHEDSome very good teams are going out early
we will also keep the same bracket for next year after popular request
Since it has been difficult to get another draft or GM game going. How about we add trading until the deadline for this game--we are already having an after-season vote.Goal
- Build a team that would win the Stanley Cup in the 2022/2023 season
- Win two rounds of voting, one at the conclusion of the game, and another at the conclusion of the 2022/2023 season
- Overall winner will follow the following scoring format:
- Difference in votes per round multiplied by the round number i.e. win by 3 in round 2 gets you 6 points. This will be tallied at the very end of the 2nd voting period for an overall winner.
Draft Details
- 23 round snake draft --> more than usual so you can draft vets/prospects and account for injuries. You can choose to void your picks after round 20 if you want to.
- 3rd round is reversed (32nd OA drafts at the start of R2, 3, 5, 7 while 1st OA drafts at the start of R1, 4, 6 etc)
- 2 hour clock, will cut it after round 7 if too many players are being skipped
- Clock runs from 9am to 12am EST every day
- Back to back picks still have 2 hours not 4
Trades
Salary Cap
- 3 total per team during the draft, or after the 1st round of voting, including draft pick and player trades
- No 3 team trades
- Each asset (this means a draft pick, and the player drafted with that draft pick) may only be traded once
- Unfair trades can be veto'd if 10 GMs vote against it within 24 hours of the trade
- 60M to 81.5M
Eligible Players
Presumed Health
- Any player who had a contract for the 2021-2022 season will use that contract for the game, not next years contracts
- Any currently unsigned NHL drafted prospect, or 2022 NHL Draft Eligible player may be chosen and have their contract be 0.925M
- Euros who are not NHL affiliated are not permitted to be drafted unless they had a contract for this season i.e. Datsyuk, but those that are affiliated i.e. Malgin can be.
- It is up to you to pick players you expect to play next season, if they do not play, that is on you and will impact you accordingly.
- We assume for voting they recover in a reasonable sense from any injuries they have i.e. Tarasenko's shoulder last season was clearly recoverable from, but Webers injuries were not. For this game, a player like Tom Wilson is presumed to have recovered fro his ACL injury, but Backstrom is more of a risk because his play next season may reflect his injury.
Skipped Picks
- Your pick is skipped after the clock as are all future picks until you make it up, you will be auto'd after 2 rounds have elapsed
- 3 skips and your clock is reduced to 50%
- 5 skips is auto skip
Injuries
- When it comes to health, assume their status is fully healed from whatever injury they're currently suffering from
- Guys who have deteriorated don't just magically end up in their primes
Voting
Draft Slot
- 32 team bracket format, with bracket determined at random after the draft. Bracket will be re-randomized for the second voting period
- All voting will be on the GM games board
- Voting is only based on the players actively in the lineup
- Random
GM List - will wait for at least 25 GMs to start the game, targeting the end of the playoffs as a start date. Would like help for the draft board and/or creating voting threads, those always annoy me to make. In no rush at all, will be a slow game, might keep 2 hour clock the whole time.

Congrats OB for the dominant victory--Islanders have a strong team.
Since we are coming back in a year, some predictions for the Senators (or maybe explanations for how the team was constructed).
Jack Hughes continues his play/pace from after the All-Star break and puts up something like 42G/70A. Putting him just below the McD/Matthews tier. Currently pacing for 55/52--so more goals, but pretty close
Cozens really figures out how to use his skating and becomes a 25G/40A player--and let's be honest he and Hughes would be nightmarish for defenders. Currently pacing for 28/43. Would actually use him at 2C with Machessault and Lindholm.
Couture transitions to wing much like Pavelski and is the ideal stabilizer for young stars (this of course won't happen in SJ). Pacing 31/37 and I still think transition to wing would be seamless
Lindholm's scoring takes a hit with Gaudreau gone, but still something like 30/30. Pacing 25/50
Mercer takes a small step and becomes a 50 point player. Pacing 18/30. Has some chemistry with Hughes so would play him there.
Marchessault gets his usual 27-30 goals. Pacing for 25 goals in 76 games.
Lindblom returns to 18-19 form and threatens 20G. Was overly optimistic about Linblom's regaining form.
Robinson continues to be a player who tilts the ice almost every shift. Easy to like his speed and tenacity, especially on the PK.
Miller and Dobson both enter the conversation for top 25 D-men in the league. Miller because he becomes a D-zone beast and Dobson because he produces 60 points while being solid in his own end. Miller is meeting the high expectations plus producing nicely. Dobson is producing and has surprisingly cut way down on give-aways.
Jensen has another season where his is quietly one of the most effective 2nd-pairing Ds in the league. Would actually put Jensen on the top pair with Miller. He is one of the most under appreciated D in the game.
Bob wins a bunch of games. Bobrovsky really struggled in Oct and Nov. Since December he has been an average NHL goalie, which in front of this team is more than enough.
Hill had really good sv%. Wins when he plays.
I thought so as well--Bobrovsky and Hill not goalies you would want for the playoffsLittle lenient with the goalies(I think both are below average as starters but rest is more than fair). Well done.
