Too bad. He must have a nice offer from Europe to forego the $325k the Preds would have paid him this year. He was quite serviceable in his recalls and is a valid NHL #8-9 for sure. In fact, odds are he probably would have gotten more than the $325k again with a couple injury callups. Oh well.

At 32, probably tired of long bus rides, between 3 game weekends.
The Euro teams often offer perks like apartments, and cars/drivers, and more, on top of salaries. And living in interesting cities.
