Wingers can be easily found and are certainly easier to grab. IMO entering next year with Newhook as the 2C is a recipe for disaster.

I’d like to add Copp if possible at the TDL. Gives us good flexibility positionally and would a nice 3C who could spot on the 2nd line if needed.

I don't think Winnipeg is ready to give up yet. IMO they should, but they still see their window as open. Copp should be one of, if not the top target for Sakic this summer.

They’re close as it is, so if they don’t go on a bit of a run here I think he’ll be available. But he’d be fantastic as the 3C this year and possibly next year if Newhook takes a step.

NYI desperately need a LHD puckmover so presumably they'd love Girard.

Not saying I would necessarily do this but just thinking of what a framework would look like, with the giant caveat that this assumes that Byram is fully healthy:

Honestly I have no idea. I don’t like Beauvillier as much as many do. I’d certainly be against anything that involves Girard.

As frustrated as I am with Girard in February, I’m very against moving him. I do want a defenseman to play with him, not replace him

The supplemental pieces of the Duchene trade have aged like milk. Bowers and Kamenev were supposed to be two fairly significant parts of the deal, but have had less impact than Andrew Hammond.
