Eichel is absolutely, positively and unequivocally a superstar. Holy crap. This is why we argue. Sensationalism leads to strong rebuttals. It's coming from both sides.

I think the only common denominator is that we all want Eichel IF the price is right.

I agree with DocGonzo Eichel isn't Generational or Top 5-8

He might crack top 50

Trading for Eichel now, would be more analogous to Columbus trading for Carter.

A bad team that didn't make the playoffs the previous 2 seasons and not looking like a contender anytime soon.

We saw what Carter thought of being traded there, and how that turned out.

In the end Columbus basically traded away Vorcek and a 1st for nothing.

That's a different subject.

But usually teams figure out away to make these types of trades work.

How is it a different subject? The cap controls everything.

No he wanted to stay in Philly, but if he had to go anywhere the Kings were full of Flyer guys in the organization. DL, Hextall, Terry Murray, Stevens, Justin Williams etc. So he didn’t mind.

So he was comfortable here? Kind of what DL didn't want though. That was a lot of Flyer guys though. Plus Sutter later on. Plus another guy from his SJ days, whatever his name was. That's a lot of BLuc level nepotism. I guess if you bring guys from a different organization it's a different kind of nepotism at least.

Vilardi, JAD, and Anderson are still on their ELCs next season. Kempe also doesn't need a raise yet. Petersen on the very cheap contract. That's a quarter of the current day roster. That's not insignificant.

Not that any of those guys, right now, will break the bank. Nobody after 22-23 that will will do so either, although right now Bjornfot would be the most important re-signing, since nobody else has done anything yet.

After 23-24, Kopitar, Roy, and Walker are UFAs. Turcotte, Kaliyev, Byfield, RFAs.

It doesn't have to be Eichel this summer, but something needs to be brought in to help. Williams, Scuderi, Smyth, Stoll, Greene, these guys were brought in before they ever made the playoffs. If it's not Eichel, they need to bring in some real NHL depth. They could do both if they wanted to. They have to start taking advantage of some of these cheap ELC contracts. The years go by quickly.

All the Kings logo tattooed on them talk, if you buy any of that, it's just gobbledygook. These are hockey players, and you pay them to play. Bring is some talent, spend some money.

DD doesn't mentor. He wants to win and isn't here to groom the next DD. He may say a nice thing about a player but he would get on the phone and trade a kid for a star in a minute. He's already complained a half dozen times since he signed his contract.
Anze is a nice guy but he's one of 10 NHL players from his country. Who is he taking under his wing? His younger brother? Heck, he's still under his daddy's wing

These kids learn from DD whether DD knows it or not.

Go get Stastny on a one or two year deal.

I'm just saying Eichel doesn't want to come to LA. As far what other team is the best fit that's another subject.

When the Kings brought those guys in it was obvious they had a young core group to build around. The current Kings don't have that. They're still in the pick/prospect accumulation and evaluation phase.

I'm always looking for a Kings podcast. The only recommendation I'd make is to lighten up the intro. 3 minutes of telling us what the show is about is enough to chase the most hard core fans away.
